Passau is a city on the Danube near the border of Germany and Austria. It is just on the German side. Which really makes no difference – the language and the money are the same in those two countries.

Our morning tour took us through the town, and for a change we had very nice sunny weather. The cathedral was very attractive; it reminded us of the one in Salzburg with all of the intricate plaster work. Karen and Joyce went shopping and bought scarves. At noon we stopped into a cafe expecting lunch but found only breakfast. So we ate breakfast – in the shop window!

We stopped and bought ice cream. The man in the shop helped us (well, me, I guess) with German pronunciation. He was from Portugal and was able to share the things that had given him trouble.

Other than that, we just walked around the town and enjoyed the beautiful buildings. Click on the pictures and you can enjoy them too!
