The Wizard spoke, and immediately it was so.

.
Pittsburgh: W, 10 – 1. (.350, .409, .550; 10 ip, 1 er). Wow. Luis Castillo twirled 8 brilliant innings — 1 earned run, 10 k’s, no walks. The offense put together a nice Edgar Martinez Day. The Alleghenys are almost to .700. They seem to be quite willing to shred our pennant race.
.
Flint Hill: “W”, 1 – 3. (.080, .115, .120; 18.3 ip, 4 er). Great pitching. Doug Fister was the day’s ace (7 ip, 1 er). Too bad there wasn’t any hitting to support the hurlers. The team went 2 for 25 with 1 walk and a double. They somehow conjured a run, but it was not deserved. What foul spell did the A’s place on the second place? Teams keep climbing (or falling) into second and then dying off like unwatered plants in the sun.
.
Haviland: W, 4 – 2. (.226, .316, .387; 12 ip, 4 er0). Johnny Cueto did fine in his Haviland debut (5 ip, 1 er) the Chiefest somehow elicited 4 runs from slim offensive pickings.
Cottage: “L”, 3 – 2. (.207, .361, .414; 6 ip, 0 er). Sean Manaea lucked into a start against the Mariners, and milked 6 shutout innings from it. Twelve Cheeses batted, but Travis d’Arnaud took most of the available offense for himself (2 for 3 wit a homer).
.
Portland: L, 1 – 7. (.146, .255, .146; no pitching). That said “no pithing” until I fixed it, but maybe I should have left it as it was . Considering bullpen was completely motionless and the offense –all 15 of them — was nearly so (6 singles and 6 walks in 47 plate appearances) a passerby might have taken them for dead specimens and commenced to pithing.
.
Peshastin: W, 10 – (-1). (.326, .420, .651; 11 ip, 8 er.) Tom “The Wizard” Johnson ended a comment yesterday with a hearty (and kind) “Go Pears!” So they went. They went 14 for 43 with 2 doubles and four homer, plus 7 walks. As M’s fans know only too well, Khris Davis did the biggest damage: 3 for 3 with a double, a homer, and a walk, but there was plenty to go around. That minus 1 run might be a shock, given those 8 earned runs allowed. But 5 of those were by the benched Matt Wisler (in 1.3 ip). None of the Pears, not even Wisler, surrendered any walks.
.
Kaline: W (-1), L 2; 0 – 11. (.108, .195, .108; 6.3 ip, 7 er). When the Wizard said “Go Pears!” the Pears went, but in a way so did Kaline: to sleep. At the plate, the Drive managed 4 singles and 4 free passes in 41 plate appearances. On the mound Nick Pivetta allowed 6 earned runs in 5 innings. Marc Rzepczynski added another in 1/3 of an inning. The Wizard clearly is a very powerful wizard, but might he be more Oz than Gandalf?
.
Old Detroit: “L”, 6 – 6. (.333, .455, .519; 14 ip, 5 er). Old Detroit’s very good day was blunted by it’s pitching star (Andrew Moore) doing his 6 innings, 2 earned runs for AAA Old Toledo. We would gladly probably promote him if the Wizard will put out a “Go Andrew!” each time Moore starts. After all, it will help the M’s, too!
.
Canberra: L, 2 – 6. (.148, .148, .259; 10 ip, 7 er). Blake Snell snapped his string of strong starts yesterday with his 4 ip, 6 earned run stinker. There wasn’t enough offense (just 4 hits and 0 walks) to make up for Snell’s offensive start.
.
DC: “W”, 4 – 6. (..250, .345, .375′ 10.3 ip, 5 er). What to say about the Balk today… oh rats, look at the time! .
Maybe some tech savvy guy can tell me how to get a better-focussed chart. If you could see this it would show the sudden collapse of the Drive yesterday, on the very right edge of the chart.

>Travis d’Arnaud took most of the available offense for himself
That should read: “took most of the available offense for the Keizer Kurds.” He is allocated at 0, since he hit .218 last month.
