Much of this post has been pre-empted by grandsons. I apologize, but I’m not as sorry as would polite.

Haviland Dragons | 31 | 33 | .486 | 6.5 | 278.0 | 287.3 |
D.C. Balk | 27 | 35 | .431 | 9.9 | 251.6 | 288.6 |
Peshastin Pears | 26 | 37 | .410 | 11.3 | 258.1 | 310.5 |
.
Portland: W, 9 – 3. (.279, .354, .791; 9 ip, 3 er). Of the six Alleghenys who OPSed 1.000 or better, Paul Goldschmidt was the OPSiest: 3 for 4 with two homers, a walk, and a hit by pitch (3.083 OPS in total). Kevin Gausman had a so-so day (6.7 ip, 3 er), but a brace of relievers cleaned things up considerably.
.
Brookland: “L”, 5 – 4. (.211, .348, .342; 18.3 ip, 9 er). Three starting pitchers combined for 14 ip, 7 er. They got back up from four relievers combining for 4.3 ip, 2 er. That batting line was buttressed by 7 walks and a hit batter, enough to just barely avoid a REAL loss.
.
Old Detroit: W, 7 – 3. (.308, .400, .641; 5.7 ip, 2 er) Max Muncy went 1 for 1 Saturday. The hit was a homer. The other three plate appearances were walks. The other two leading Wolverine hitters were noted sluggers Nick Ahmed (3 for 5 with two doubles and a homer) and Mallex Smith (3 for 4 with a homer off a struggling King Felix that became a triple on review) (What was the point? To rob the Wolverines of an extra base! Smith scored anyway. No one benefitted from this Wolverine oppression.)
.
Canberra: W, 5 – 3. (.286, .375, .486; 13 ip, 4 er). Another good day for an EFL team. It is more fun to have a good day when those above you in the standings aren’t because you can race up the table. But there should be some satisfaction at least in having a good day when your rivals are also having a good day. Think about the Rosebuds looking at those standings and realizing their really good day didn’t help them much in the standings.
.
Flint Hill: W, 4 – 3. (.174, .174, .348; 15.3 ip, 6 er)
.
Cottage: W, 2 – 0. (.174, .240, .217; 8 ip, 1 er). Danny Duffy pitched a good game: 7 ip, 0 er. What’s going on in Cottage?
.
Pittsburgh: W, 6 – 3. (.256, .333, .372; 6 ip, 2 er).
.
Kaline: L, 4 – 4. (.227, .300, .455; 8.7 ip, 3 er).
.
Haviland: W, 7 – 1. (.271, .352, .500; 2 ip, 0 er).
.
DC: W, 5 – 3. (.275, .362, .300; 7 ip, 2 er).
