I only have time today for the briefest update… you know the drill
- The Rosebuds (DNP, (-3) – (-3)) continue to
rapidlyextend their lead, with the active connivance of the Old Detritus Woeverines (W 2, L 0; 12 – 11) , who slipped another 0.1 games behind the Rosebuds despite Rafael Devers going 5 for 8 with two doubles and two homer, and being credited for two wins, and crossing the 100 win line. Portland’s lead is up to 5.5 games, the largest ever enjoyed by any Rosebud team in the history of the universe. Until tomorrow. - Brookland ( L, 5 – 10) is still spinning off into the ditch after the Kangaroos (“L”, 5 -3 ) blasted past them Tuesday. The Alleghenys (W, 9 – 5) are moving into position for a last-second dash past the Outs, too. There’s a lot of angst stored up out there about the first-year Outs showing up veteran teams, but it looks like the Alleghenys are the last team in a position to do anything about it.
- Flint Hill ( W 0, L 2; 7 – 19) and Haviland (W, 2 – (-8)) are out there in lonely space, at least 3 games away from anyone else (including each other). The Dragons are running out of time to get back above .500.
- The Drive (L, 9 – 6) drove their margin over the Cheese (L, 4 – 5) up to 0.2 games. Peshastin (DNP, 3 – 0) seems to have abandoned their effort, so lively a few days ago, to overtake the Cheese.
- DC (W -1, L 2; 0 – 8) are now almost as hopeless for staying within 30 games of the top as the W’s are for getting back to the top. But passing the Pears is still a possibility.
