As I have posted in previous years I have the results of drafting rookies by the computer. I ran the first round of non-EFL picks (I chose 21 picks although it may be just 20 with DC in the league) 10,000 times with the results shown below.
I do this for a couple of reasons – one, to let you know how the computer is evaluating rookies (remember that at-bats/innings pitched are weighed heavily, and there is such thing as a “prospect” to the computer – all it knows is the stats the players generated last year) and, two, so you can let me know if a player seems mis-rated – either too high or too low. There’s still time to tweak the managers.
23 players are listed – these are the only players that the program will draft number one overall (but remember there is a 3% chance of a completely random pick in the actual drafting program).
The data is, after the name:
# of times drafted in the first round out of 10000 (so 23 times Bryant did not get drafted – stupid computer) followed by the number of times (out of 10000) he was drafted #1 overall. Enjoy!
