Cat’s paws

Probably it’s all a sham.

Maybe they are toying with their prey, like a giant, scaly, fire-breathing cat.

Or maybe they are like the giant, Fezzick, who just wanted Westley to feel like he was doing well before he died.

Whatever it is, it’s working.  The Dragons have made the Wolverines feel like they are doing well, that there is still hope they can escape with the pennant. The Wolverines are still trying to win.

It can all end at any moment.  The Dragons have outstanding offense — including the world’s most offensive breath. They also have the league’s best defense.  We’ve seen them leap forward a game or two in the standings in a single day.

But over the last week the Dragons have been lying low, apparently napping atop their heap of treasure.  The Wolverines have crept closer and closer — 0.6 games closed in a single day Friday.  Very quietly. No one ever wants to disturb a sleeping Dragon.

In fact, I’m thinking all this whispering I’m doing now is unwise.  I had better wrap this up.  No need to take any chances.
