This is a minimalist post just so you dads out there would know I was thinking of you. I may get a chance to add daily results for each team, or I may not… depends on the family’s plans for the day.
.
Follow-up (about 1:45 pm): i managed to find a bit of time for some slightly less-minimalist contributions.

Haviland: W, 3 – 2. (.325, .414, .375; 7.3 ip, 1 er).
Cottage: W, 11 – 4. (.351, .489, .649; 13 ip, 5 er). I’ve always had trouble telling Scooter Gennett from Jonathan Schoop. Schoop’s the little middle infielder who hit two homers yesterday as part of a 4 for 5 day.
.
Flint Hill: L, 7 – 5. (.243, .349, .541; 2 ip, 0 er).
Pittsburgh: W 1, L 1; 11- 9. (.239, .271, .478; 13 ip, 4 er). Jose Altuve and Cody Bellinger both ended up with 2.000 OPSes on the day Saturday. Bellinger did it with three hits, including a double and a homer, in 5 AB. Altuve did it with 4 AB and 2 hits (a double and a homer).
.
Portland: W, 7 – 4. (.267, .326, .561; 1 ip. 0 er). A nice win led by Yasiel Puig’s 2 homers in two trips. I don’t know: homers seem cheap this year, and that leaves me a little bored by them.
.
Kaline: W, 8 – 0. (.345, .367, .552; 29.7 ip, 12 er), The Drive amassed 60 plate appearances Saturday — more than two games’ worth. They also had 29.7 ip, about 4 games’ worth in EFL terms. When all that is good, it is very good of the Drive.
.
Peshastin: L, 1 – 6. (.230, .277, .311; 1 ip, 0 er). The Pears got 65 plate appearances — but they weren’t, on average, all that great, so that was extra bad for Peshastin partisans.
.
Canberra: W (-1), L 2; 2 – 13. (.194, .194, .361; 16.3 ip, 17 er). A disastrous day for the Kangaroos. Porcello, Perez, and Ryan Merritt pitched poorly, but Dan Altavilla quadruple chulked (1 ip, 4 er) to turn a bad day much worse.
.
Old Detroit: W 2, L (-1); 6 – (-2). (.257, .316, .571; 15 ip, 1 er) Wow! Alex Meyer went 6 scoreless innings, David Paulino allowed 1 ER in 6 ip, and Robert Whalen put in 2 scoreless innings of relief. Unfortunately of those 14 innings I was slated to get only 3.6. I upped Meyer’s percentage to 100% so I could get all 6 of his innings but the excellence of Paulino and Whalen is going to waste.
.
DC: L, (-1) – 3. (.135, .179, .216; 12.3 ip, 4 er). Wolveritis is rampant in the Balk lineup, so even on a day of excellent pitching the Balk couldn’t manage enough offense to nail down a win.

There are many days when you get only an inning or two from a reliever. But yesterday four starters worked and went 6-7 innings each. And thankfully no chulks, after Paxton’s second disaster in a row. Happy Fathers Day to you all.
