I didn’t have much time today (Tuesday), but then Monday was a light MLB schedule, so it seems fitting if you get a slim update.

Flint Hill: DNP, 0 – 0. (16 PA, .267, .313, .400; no pitching). Monday was pretty much a day off for the Tornados. They’re fat and happy up there on the top of the mighty Flint Hill heights, having sat atop the league for a long time now, with everyone else keeping a game’s worth of distance. But not Mike Trout — he’s still alert and on guard (3 for 5).
.
Portland: DNP, 3 – 3. (25 PA, .318, .400, .636; 11.7 ip, 6 er, 4.63 ERA) Brad Peacock spun a nice 5 innings, with only 1 earned run. But he is allocated at 0%. Jose Berrios twirled 5.7 ip, resulting in 5 er. He’s allocated 100%. This is how a raw 4.63 ERA results in a pitching staff allowing as many runs as a 1.036 OPS scores. It was an off-day, too which shrinks impacts, making any differences between offense and defense less apparent. So could the Rosebuds invade some of that seemingly impenetrable 1.0 game buffer zone around the Tornados’ mountaintop hilltop moundtop castle by simply activating Peacock? Maybe. But the Commissioner is not in the business of coaching other owners on how to run their teams.
.
Canberra: L, 5 – 8. (27 PA, .231, .259, .538; no pitching). The K’s amassed 14 total bases out of only 6 hits, for an isolated power of .307. That is elite slugging stacked up on mediocre hitting. Had there been any pitching, the ‘Roos might have gained ground they’ve been gradually losing.
.
Pittsburgh: L, 3 – 11. (18 PA, .235, .278, .235; 1 ip, 3 er, 27.00 era). Do you see that triple chulk? That was by prize rookie-draft first round-pick Lou Trivino. Who was the meanie who did that to him? Hmmm….
.
Old Detroit: DNP, 1 – 0. (19 PA, .333, .474, .533; 12 ip, 4 er, 3.00 ERA). …well, what do you know? It was Dan Vogelbach, bringing the Mariners back from the brink of another loss, tying the game with a three-run homer.
.
Kaline: “L”, 4 – 4. (18 PA, .188, 263, .188; 2 ip, 0 er, o era) Omar Narvaez was the other Mariners hero, who drove in the winning run to win the game.
.
Bellingham: “L”, 6 – 3. (19 PA, 263, .263, .421; 5.3 ip, 1 er, 1.69 ERA). Bryce Harper got booed in Philadelphia Tuesday evening. He kind of deserved it: 0 for 4 with 3 k’s. Harper’s May line: 48 PA, .175, .313, .300. Harper’ season line: .222, .367, .438. Things started ok, but have been ugly lately. Of course, they’re paying about twice as much for Harper’s services in Philadelphia.
.
Peshastin: DNP, 1 – (1). (15 PA, .167, .333, .417; 4 ip. 1 er,. 2.25 ERA). Mitch Haniger led off the game Tuesday with a homer… but that was about it.
.
Cottage: W 1, L (-1); 4 – 3. (26 PA, .391, .462, .957; 5 ip, 4 er, 7.20 ERA). Yoan Moncada led that monster offense: 3 for 4 with two homers. But the headlines went to Shohei Ohtani who blasted his first homer as part of a 2 for 3 day with two walks.
.
Haviland: L, 3 – 6. (9 PA, .111, .111, .556; 2 ip, 1 er, 4.50 ERA). One of the slimmest lines you’ll see in the EFL — just one hit all day, but it was a Ramon Laureano homer. Brandon Brennan earned a win by holding the Athletics to one run in two innings.
.
Brookland: DNP, 0 – 2. (9 PA, .143, .333, .143; 6.3 ip, 5 er, 7.11 ERA). Almost as slim as the Dragons, but the added bulk was, unfortunately, extra runs given up.
.
D.C.: L, 3 – 7. (14 PA, .231, .286, .385; 1.7 ip, 1 er, 5.40 ERA). The problem with a light MLB schedule is the light line it can generate for your team, which isn’t a big deal unless your division’s best MLB team played a game. If that happens your ship is likely to take on a lot of replacement innings and/or at bats, which can swamp what your real players do.
